All my life I have hiked, camped, tubed, rafted, scuba dived, and loved the Wasatch Mountain Range. This great outdoors does not judge, command or demand anything from me. It calmly, not always quietly, brings my awareness to my present surroundings.
Deer running up the mountain, tiny gray rabbits, bobbing quail, turkey vultures floating in the sky, the breeze in my hair, the sound of trickling water, an occasional moose – ground me.
The great outdoors woos my mind from any internal chaos or frustration to nature’s energy – wildflowers, wildlife, water, insects, snakes, gnarly trees, and really really big rocks.
Our great outdoors – ever changing and not always safe. Like life.
